New Hope's (ASX:NHC) run-of-mine coal production fell 5% to 4 million tonnes in the quarter ended April 30, from 4.2 million tonnes in the previous quarter, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
Saleable coal production for the quarter was 2.8 million tonnes, up 1%, from 2.7 million tonnes last quarter, the miner said in the filing.
Coal sales volume rose 3% to 2.7 million tonnes from 2.6 million tonnes, the filing added.
For the fiscal year, the mining firm raised its run-of-mine coal production guidance to between 15.9 million tonnes to 17.5 million tonnes from its previous guidance of 15.5 million tonnes to 17 million tonnes.
Saleable coal production guidance for the year was lowered between 10.6 million tonnes to 11.6 million tonnes from its previous guidance of between 10.8 million tonnes to 11.9 million tonnes.
The company also lowered its coal sales guidance between 10.4 million tonnes to 11.5 million tonnes from its previous guidance of between 10.7 million tonnes to 11.8 million tonnes, as per the filing.
