制药巨头再生元以2.56亿美元收购23andMe及其客户数据
制药企业再生元（Regeneron）周一宣布，将通过破产拍卖以2.56亿美元收购基因检测公司23andMe。
根据协议，再生元将获得23andMe的基因组学服务及1500万客户的个人与基因数据库。这家制药巨头表示计划利用这些数据助力药物研发，并承诺“将优先保障23andMe客户数据的隐私安全及伦理使用”。
23andMe于今年三月申请破产保护，此前2023年发生的数据泄露事件导致700万客户的隐私及基因数据外泄。随着消费者对其DNA检测套装兴趣减退，该公司股价已暴跌至近乎归零。公司创始人兼首席执行官安妮·沃西基在企业崩盘后辞职。
破产程序启动后，联邦破产法院受托监督23andMe资产出售事宜，引发外界担忧客户数据库可能被售予敌对势力或不道德买家。再生元在声明中表示，作为破产拍卖的指定买家，该公司“拟确保遵守”23andMe隐私政策及相关数据法规。
破产法院定于6月17日审议此项收购。再生元明确表示不会接手23andMe旗下Lemonaid Health业务。
