The Australian Taxation Office has applied to the Federal Court of Australia to wind up Ben Madsen’s private credit lending group Archibald Capital, which has been one of the key backers of Sydney pub baron Jon Adgemis.
The ATO first lodged a tax default notice on Archibald Capital, of which Madsen is managing partner and co-founder, in November. It then updated the notice earlier this May for $715,306 in outstanding tax payments, according to corporate filings.
