Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) said three of the five metallurgical tests from the Kamperman deposit, within its Feysville project in Western Australia, yielded an average overall gold recovery of 98.1%, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The remaining two tests from the deposit returned an average recovery of 87.9% due to a lack of free cyanide, due to elevated copper levels in bulk samples, the filing said.
The tests will be repeated with higher initial concentrations of free cyanide to increase overall gold recoveries.
Meanwhile, metallurgical testing at another deposit, Rogan Josh, yielded an average gold recovery of 91.5%, according to the filing.
Shares were up 3% in morning trade on Thursday.
