Oracle (ORCL) is buying about $40 billion worth of Nvidia's (NVDA) high-performance chips for Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI's new data center in Abilene, Texas, the Financial Times reported Friday, citing several people familiar with the matter.

Oracle will buy about 400,000 of Nvidia's GB200 chips and lease the computing power to OpenAI, the people reportedly told the news outlet.

Oracle did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
