智通财经APP获悉，美国财政部长贝森特表示，特朗普政府已暂停筹建主权财富基金的计划，转而将重点放在偿还国家债务上。
贝森特在接受采访时表示：“我认为总统已经决定暂缓这个计划，因为我们现在还有其他事情在处理。他前几天还说，我们可能会花更多时间来偿还债务。他对还债的问题高度关注。”
今年2月，特朗普曾指示筹备成立一个全球规模最大的主权财富基金之一，并提出可通过变现政府资产来为基金提供资金，用于关键矿产项目或战略投资，例如对TikTok等公司的入股。当时贝森特表示，该基金可能在12个月内正式启动。
但据外媒上周报道，这一宏大的构想在遭遇法律、财务与政治障碍后，优先级迅速下降。政府目前正转向一个更为简单、无需国会批准的小型投资机制，利用现有政府机构来执行部分原计划的功能。
据知情人士透露，贝森特与商务部长卢特尼克按照特朗普要求在90天内提出了相关建议，并于本月初提交了方案。但白宫官员对该提案并不满意，因此最终未将其呈交总统批准。
在采访中，贝森特还回应了外界对共和党最新税改法案可能加剧债务负担的担忧。该法案将提高债务上限，引发部分人士对美国债务与GDP比例的疑虑。
“这个法案将带来经济增长，”贝森特表示，“这将有助于降低债务比率。我并不担心美国的债务结构，因为一旦经济增速轨迹发生改变，许多问题都会迎刃而解。”他还预测，到明年这个时候，美国GDP增速将超过3%。
