Sector Update: Health Care Stocks Flat to Lower Pre-Bell Wednesday

Health care stocks were flat to lower pre-bell Wednesday as the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was unchanged and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) was down 0.5% recently.

Medtronic (MDT) shares were up 0.5% after the company reported higher fiscal Q4 non-GAAP earnings and net sales.

Moderna (MRNA) said it has voluntarily withdrawn its Biologics License Application for mRNA-1083, its flu and COVID combination vaccine candidate for adults aged 50 and older. Shares of Moderna were more than 1% higher premarket.

Belite Bio (BLTE) shares were up 0.4% after the company said the US Food and Drug Administration granted breakthrough therapy designation to its Tinlarebant drug for treating Stargardt disease.
