JPMorgan Chase (JPM) agreed to provide over $7 billion to the companies building OpenAI's artificial intelligence data center campus in Abilene, Texas, The Information reported Thursday, citing two sources close to the matter.
JPMorgan already funded the initial development of the Abilene project with a $2.3 billion loan to the developers, the report said.
The project is being developed by a group of companies and will be used by Microsoft-backed OpenAI, according to the report.
It said the actual project is being built by developer Crusoe, and it is partly owned by asset manager Blue Owl and Primary Digital Infrastructure, an investment fund.
JPMorgan, Crusoe, Blue Owl and Primary Digital didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
