沃尔沃汽车与Alphabet旗下的谷歌周三表示，这家瑞典汽车制造商现在成为Android汽车软件的主要开发合作伙伴。
沃尔沃全球软件工程主管Alwin Bakkenes表示：“我们将能够迅速为客户带来新功能、新特性和新体验。这确实让我们在打造出色的客户体验方面拥有优势。”
Bakkenes表示，两家公司已经合作了10年，但更深入的合作意味着谷歌的工程师将驾驶装有最新软件的沃尔沃汽车，“更早、更快地体验他们的产品在真实环境中的表现”。
他表示，汽车行业平均比手机落后两个Android版本，这“意味着你在手机上可以做的事情，在很多情况下你不能在车里做”。
沃尔沃汽车目前使用的是Android 13，但在加州山景城举行的谷歌I/O年度开发者大会上，两家公司展示了运行Android 15 （谷歌移动操作系统的最新版本）的沃尔沃旗舰电动SUV EX90，该车型将于今年晚些时候推出量产车型。
Bakkenes说，“其他人可能要等两年才能得到”最新版本的Android。
在谷歌I/O大会上，两家公司还展示了谷歌在EX90上运行的Gemini人工智能模型，沃尔沃将在内置谷歌的汽车上推广该模型。
Bakkenes说，司机不必通过手机搜索目的地，他们可以让Gemini搜索他们的电子邮件或信息。Bakkenes说，例如，司机可以让双子座找到食谱，然后在手机上放一份购物清单，以创造“以人为本的体验”
