BlockBeats News, May 22, a New York jury found former SafeMoon CEO Braden John Karony guilty on all three felony charges, including conspiracy to defraud the United States, money laundering, and wire fraud. After a trial lasting about two weeks, the jury took less than a day to reach a verdict.
Karony was accused of embezzling millions of dollars for personal spending during SafeMoon's market cap surge. He was charged alongside former CTO Thomas Smith and platform creator Kyle Nagy, with Smith having turned state's witness and Nagy reportedly fleeing to Russia. Karony faces up to 45 years in prison.
