BlockBeats 消息，5 月 21 日，据 Theblock 报道，美国证券交易委员会（SEC）主席 Paul Atkins 在国会听证会上接受议员质询，内容涉及与总统特朗普相关的 Meme 币，以及他是否与加密货币企业家 Justin Sun 的关系可能构成问题。
Atkins 上任不到一个月，于本周二出席了众议院拨款委员会的听证会，该委员会负责监督联邦机构的资金拨款。议员们询问了他对加密货币监管的立场、SEC 对 Justin Sun 暂停的欺诈案，以及最近与特朗普有关的数字资产活动。
马里兰州民主党众议员 Glenn Ivey 提到，在特朗普 1 月就职典礼前夕发生的一系列事件，其中包括 Justin Sun 的公司 Tron 从 World Liberty Financial 购买了价值 3000 万美元的代币。该公司是一家去中心化金融机构，声称受特朗普总统的理念启发而创立。
随后，美 SEC 决定暂停对 Justin Sun 及其公司（包括 Tron）的欺诈案件。这一案件目前处于搁置状态。与此同时，特朗普本人也有与他相关的 Meme 币流通，并将于本周晚些时候为前 220 名 Meme 币持有者举办晚宴。Justin Sun 在周二早些时候于 X 平台发文称，他是这些“顶级粉丝”之一。
对此，Ivey 回应称：“说实话，这件事闻起来就很不对劲。我的希望是 SEC 能对这件事展开调查。”Atkins 则回应称，Justin Sun 的案子仍是“正在进行的案件”，并指出 SEC 已经表明，Meme 币并不被视为证券。
