路透5月21日 - 澳洲金融评论$(AFR.AU)$报周二报道，西太平洋银行(Westpac)WBC.AX计划裁员逾1,500人，以实现其降低成本和简化运营的目标。
报道称，此次裁员是该行2023年UNITE计划的一部分。该计划旨在通过减少核心平台、基础设施现代化以及降低长期运营和维护成本来精简技术系统。
根据西太平洋银行2024年年报，截至2024年9月30日，该行全球员工人数为35,240人。
