Deckers Outdoor (DECK) reported fiscal Q4 GAAP earnings late Thursday of $1 per diluted share, up from $0.82 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.64.
Sales for the quarter ended March 31 were $1.02 billion, up from $959.8 million a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $1.01 billion.
The company set fiscal Q1 EPS guidance of $0.62 to $0.67 on sales of $890 million to $910 million. Analysts expect EPS of $0.79 on sales of $925.3 million.
The board authorized an increase of $2.25 billion to the company's stock repurchase program, bringing the total authorization to $2.5 billion.
Separately, the company named Cynthia L. Davis as board chair, effective immediately. She succeeds Michael F. Devine III, who decided to retire, according to a statement.
Davis most recently served as chair of the board's Talent and Compensation Committee.
Shares were down 11% in after-hours trading.
