Salesforce (CRM) is in talks to buy Informatica (INFA) in a renewed attempt after a previous effort fell through last year, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
A final decision has not been made, and the deal could still collapse or draw interest from other buyers.
Cloud Software Group has also reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Informatica.
Informatica carries about $1.9 billion in debt, Bloomberg data show.
Informatica's shares were up more than 17%, while Salesforce stock was down 3.6% in recent trading.
Salesforce, Cloud Software Group, Informatica and Permira, which backs Informatica, did not immediately respond to requests for a comment from MT Newswires.
