Air New Zealand Buys Back Over 400,000 Ordinary Shares

Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) bought back 404,923 ordinary shares, according to a Friday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.

The company repurchased 134,248 ordinary shares on the New Zealand stock exchange at an average price of NZ$0.597; 64,133 ordinary shares on the Australian stock exchange at AU$0.55 apiece; and 206,542 ordinary shares acquired off-market from the sovereign through the Minister of Finance at NZ$0.5969 each, the filing stated.

The company's Australian shares were up nearly 1% in recent Friday trade.
