Aurora, Illinois, May 22, 2025 - Old Second Bancorp, Inc. has announced the receipt of necessary regulatory approvals to proceed with its merger with Bancorp Financial, Inc., based in Oakbrook, Illinois. This follows a previously announced plan to merge the two financial institutions, which is expected to enhance their financial strength and competitive position in the Chicago metropolitan market. The completion of the merger is contingent upon approval by Bancorp Financial's stockholders and the fulfillment of customary closing conditions. Old Second anticipates finalizing the transaction in July 2025.
