Fortescue's (ASX:FMG) recent executive appointments to develop environmentally friendly (green) iron production could improve outcomes for the miner, according to a Friday report by The Australian, citing Macquarie.
On Thursday, the company appointed Agustin Pichot as chief executive of growth and energy, effective July 1, to oversee its green energy development and growth projects.
The company also said Metals and Operations Chief Executive Dino Otranto will assume expanded duties overseeing global electrification, decarbonization, and hydrogen production.
Macquarie said the move potentially boosts efficiency in operational decarbonization and green steel efforts.
