Energy Recovery Inc. (NASDAQ: ERII) has announced securing over $7 million in contracts to supply their PX® Pressure Exchanger® energy recovery devices and pumps for multiple seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination projects in Spain. These projects aim to save approximately 280.5 GWh of energy annually and reduce CO₂ emissions by 135,437 tons, equivalent to the emissions of around 26,000 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles. The facilities will provide more than 330,000 cubic meters of fresh water daily, featuring a significant retrofit with the PX Q300. This initiative underscores a growing trend towards upgrading existing desalination plants with proven energy recovery technologies. Energy Recovery, recognized for its commitment to energy efficiency, continues to lead in delivering sustainable solutions worldwide, enhancing water supply resilience while minimizing environmental impact. All orders are expected to be completed in 2025.
