美国财政部发表声明称，部长斯科特·贝森特和日本财务大臣加藤胜信在加拿大会晤时没有讨论汇率水平。消息一出日元应声下跌。

　　财政部周三表示，贝森特和加藤“重申了他们的共同信念，即汇率应由市场决定，且目前美元-日元汇率反映了基本面”。

　　两位官员利用在加拿大班夫举行的七国集团财长和央行行长会议间隙会晤。

　　美国还表示，贝森特和加藤讨论了与美日经济关系相关的问题，包括全球安全和两国正在进行的双边贸易谈判。
