1330 ET - Kraft Heinz is likely considering divestitures of slower growth and highly competitive categories, or acquisitions of brands related to the company's core business, such as condiments, sauces and snacks, Stifel analysts say in a research note. The company's disclosure that it's evaluating strategic transactions comes amid a difficult time in the M&A and divestiture environment, challenged by recent volatility surrounding tariffs, the analysts say. The packaged-foods business has also been hurt by weak consumption trends. "We believe Kraft Heinz will continue to evaluate its portfolio to improve the growth and profit profile," the analysts write, while also remaining "a disciplined seller, which could limit the potential for incremental divestitures in the near-term." Kraft Heinz falls 3%. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
