美国总统特朗普周三表示，他将在不久的将来就将房利美和房地美上市做出决定，并表示他正在“非常认真地考虑”这一问题。
特朗普在Truth Social上发布的一条帖子中表示，他将与美国财长斯科特·贝森特、商务部长霍华德·卢特尼克和联邦住房金融总监威廉·普尔特进行讨论。
“房利美和房地美做得很好，抛出了大量现金，现在似乎是时候了，”特朗普说，但没有提供进一步的细节。
房利美和房地美是由美国国会创建的，目的是扩大全美住房贷款市场，从私人贷款机构购买住房贷款，并将其重新包装为抵押贷款支持证券。这两家公司现在是作为私人股东的营利性公司进行运营的。
2008年美国房地产市场崩溃时，房利美和房地美蒙受了巨大损失。为了避免对美国经济造成灾难性影响，它们被置于新成立的联邦住房金融局（Federal Housing Finance Agency）的监管之下。
在特朗普的第一个任期内，他也曾试图让房利美和房地美摆脱政府的控制，但没有成功。
今年2月，美国财长贝森特表示，房利美和房地美是否脱离监管将取决于抵押贷款利率的影响。
他说：“房利美和房地美释放的优先事项，也是我所关注的最重要的指标，是任何有关抵押贷款利率将上升的研究或暗示。”
