智通财经APP获悉，英国石油公司(BP.US)已启动旗下嘉实多(Castrol)润滑油业务的出售程序，并聘请高盛集团协助推进交易，此举标志着该公司通过资产剥离提振股价计划的关键一步。 英国石油今年2月曾宣布，正评估嘉实多业务，作为其2027年前通过资产出售筹集200亿美元以降低债务计划的一部分。
此前3月消息称，沙特阿美(Saudi Aramco)是潜在竞购方之一。 据了解，基于嘉实多2024年预计10亿美元的核心收益，该业务出售可能筹集80亿至100亿美元资金。
作为更广泛资产出售计划的一部分，英国石油还在寻求出售其位于德国盖尔森基兴的炼油厂、奥地利的移动出行与便利业务，以及所持Lightsource bp合资公司50%的股权(投标人入围名单将于7月确定)。
在过去12个月中，英国石油股价累计下跌约25%，跌幅超过竞争对手壳牌(SHEL.US)的两倍，投资者因此施压公司改善盈利能力。
