Cigna Group's (CI) health services division Evernorth said late Wednesday it has rolled out a pharmacy benefit service that will lower weight loss medication costs and cap monthly patient bills at $200.

The monthly copay for GLP-1 weight loss drugs of at most $200 could save patients up to $3,600 annually versus purchasing medications directly from manufacturers or consumer programs, the company said.

The prior authorization process for the new benefit option will be automated for faster access, it added.
