0723 GMT - Banco Comercial Portugues reported earnings 10% ahead of consensus expectations on slightly better net interest income and provisions, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods says. "We think these results don't disappoint," analysts Hugo Cruz and Ben Maher write in a research note. The Portuguese lender also reported balance sheet growth, with loan and deposits up 1.4% and 1.5% compared with the previous quarters and total assets 2.1% ahead. Its CET 1 ratio was below expectations but is still strong at 15.9%, they note. Shares rise 1% to 0.65 euros. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
