得益于美元和油价疲软，菲律宾比索兑美元汇率升至近两年来的最高水平。

　　对美国财政赤字的担忧日益加剧并拖累美元走低之际，比索上涨0.1%至55.20，为2023年8月以来的最高水平。低油价也利好菲律宾这个成品油净进口国，因其有助于缩小该国的国际收支赤字。

　　菲律宾央行本月早些时候表示，当局不太可能出手抑制比索升值。投资者在5月23日还收到了一些关于政策连续性的好消息：总统马科斯在内阁改组中保留了经济负责人，其中包括财政部长Ralph Recto。

　　不过，经济相关担忧仍对比索不利，该国第一季度增长率5.4%低于经济学家的预期，凸显出美国关税冲击没来之前经济就面临的挑战。
