Rolls-Royce is set to begin operating its engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility in Beijing by the end of 2025, Xinhua News Agency reported Tuesday, citing a senior executive.

The British engine manufacturer set up a joint venture with Air China (HKG:0753, SHA:601111) and formed Beijing Aero Engine Services or BAESL, the report said.

BAESL will initially service engines for Airbus A330 aircraft before venturing to engines for the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787, the report said, citing Rolls Royce's Executive Vice President for Greater China Troy Wang.

Upon reaching full capacity in the mid-2030s, BAESL will be able to support up to 250 shop visits yearly, the report said.
