英国食品通胀率创一年新高，杂货商成本暴增50亿英镑
智通财经APP获悉，英国5月份食品通胀率升至一年来最高水平，英国超市正艰难应对英国政府增加财政收入的预算案导致经营成本上升的问题。英国零售商协会周二表示，食品通胀率连续第四个月上升，从4月份的2.6%升至2.8%，其中生鲜食品是主要推手。
杂货商正努力保持竞争力，同时还要应对最低工资上涨和工资税上调的问题。英国零售商协会 (BRC) 称，这些措施相当于增加了50亿英镑(合67亿美元)的成本。

BRC首席执行官海伦·迪金森在一份声明中表示："通胀再次抬头并不令人意外。"
在英国杂货商阿斯达表示将降低价格作为其扭亏为盈计划的一部分后，这些数据削弱了人们对价格战的预期。今年早些时候，阿斯达的较大竞争对手乐购（Tesco）和森宝利（Sainsbury）的股价因此下跌。
行业研究分析师查尔斯·艾伦上周在一份报告中表示：“对激烈价格战的担忧可能有些过头了。”
