Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) will open a new chip design center in Munich, Germany, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a company executive.

TSMC Europe President Paul de Bot told a symposium that the design center would open in Q3, the report said.

"It's intended to support European customers in designing high-density, high-performance, and energy-efficient chips with a focus on applications again in automotive, industrial, AI, and IoT," de Bot was quoted as saying.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
