The event was hosted by Ken Hoexter, B of A's air freight and surface transportation and shipping analyst. Attendees from FedEx included John Dietrich, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Brie Carere, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer. This marked Carere's first time at the event, while Dietrich attended for the second time. During the call, several key topics were discussed, including FedEx's strategic initiatives such as DRIVE, Network 2.0, and One FedEx progress. Notably, FedEx announced that it is taking Amazon back as a customer for the first time since 2019. Brie Carere highlighted the importance of maintaining a flexible and efficient supply chain, stating, "Our ability to help those 2.5 million customers define their future growth strategy with the most flexible, efficient, and nimble supply chain in the world, is pretty profound." Furthermore, Carere provided insights into the economic backdrop, noting that while consumer strength remains robust, the B2B sector is facing challenges, suggesting a recession in that area. "The backdrop is not great, from a B2B perspective... The consumer is strong," she remarked. The full transcript can be accessed through the link below.
