Viva Energy Group (ASX:VEA) secured support from the Victorian state government following the release of the environmental effects statement for its gas terminal project in Corio, according to a statement from the Office of the Premier of Victoria.
An assessment made by Minister for Planning Sonya Kilkenny showed that "strengthened environmental management practices" can manage potential project impacts.
The terminal can receive up to 160 petajoules of liquefied natural gas per annum, pending further regulatory approvals.
