Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (NSE:MAZDOCK, BOM:543237) witnessed a sharp decline in its consolidated profit to 3.25 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31, against 6.63 billion rupees a year ago.
Earnings per share contracted to 8.06 rupees compared with the year-ago figure of 16.44 rupees, according to a Thursday filing to the Indian stock exchanges by the ship builder.
Revenue from operations in fiscal Q4 increased to 31.7 billion rupees from 31.04 billion rupees a year earlier.
The company's board recommended a final dividend of 2.71 rupees per equity share of 5 rupees each for the fiscal year ended March 31.
Mazagon Dock's shares were down 7% in recent trade.
