Valterra Platinum's Shares Could Rise Post-Demerger -- Market Talk

0531 GMT - Valterra Platinum's London-listed shares could trade around 3,200 pence a share compared with today's implied share price of 3,044 pence a share, RBC Capital Markets analysts Ben Davis and Marina Calero write. Formerly Anglo American Platinum, Valterra will begin trading in London from Monday June 2. Major indexes could sell up to 21 million shares but this will be partially offset by emerging market indexes buying as the free float increases to 80.1% from 33.3%. The South African Pension Fund could continue to increase its ownership above its current 11.7%, they write. Near-term volatility in the stock could provide attractive entry points for investors given the quality of Valterra's assets, they add. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
