据报道援引知情人士的话称，随着与英国和意大利的联合下一代战斗机项目进展滞后，日本可能考虑通过新的美国F-35隐形战机或升级老旧F-2战机来填补防空漏洞。

　　知情人士透露，与英国和意大利合作的所谓“全球战斗航空计划”（GCAP）的部署可能推迟至2040年以后，错过2035年的交付目标。

　　据悉，关于可能采购更多F-35战机的讨论正在进行中，但具体数量或时间表尚无法得到立即核实。

　　日本防卫省采购部门的一名发言人表示，2035年部署目标保持不变。

　　英国国防部一名发言人表示，三国正专注于该项目并“取得强劲进展”，而意大利国防部未回应置评请求。
