TotalEnergies (TTE) and RGE said Friday their equally owned joint venture Singa Renewables received a conditional license from Singapore's Energy Market Authority to import 1 gigawatt of renewable power from Indonesia.

TotalEnergies and RGE said their solar and battery storage project in Indonesia will supply clean firm power to "energy-intensive" customers in Singapore and to industrial complexes close to the solar site in Indonesia's Riau Province.

The companies said they also signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore Energy Interconnections for the development of a subsea interconnector to allow electricity imports from Indonesia to Singapore.
