NetApp will buyback up to $1.1 billion of the company's common stock, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday.
The San Jose, Calif.-based data infrastructure company's board of directors approved the buyback program on May 22. The program has no time limit, and NetApp is not obligated to repurchase a specific number of shares.
Repurchases may be made in the open market or in privately negotiated transactions, the company said.
The company reported fourth quarter financial results on Thursday.
