Empire Energy Group (ASX:EEG) said its shareholders approved a special resolution to change the company's name, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

The company said 85.12% of the votes cast by its shareholders at the annual general meeting were in favor of the resolution.

The company said the rebrand reflects its shift from US operations to a sole focus on the Beetaloo Basin in Australia's Northern Territory, a separate filing showed.

The new name has not yet been disclosed.
