日本央行一位高级官员周三表示，日本目前没有发行央行数字货币的计划，但在社会日益无现金化之际，必须继续创新支付和结算系统。日本央行决济机构局长神山一成表示，虽然日本的纸币发行量仍然很高，但随着数字化的快速发展，未来纸币的使用量可能会大幅下降。神山一成在与私营公司就开发数字日元试点项目举行的会议上表示，日本央行虽然目前没有发行央行数字货币的计划，但必须继续努力提高日本支付结算系统的安全性和效率。
