In a long-running legal battle, Oracle America, Inc. and Oracle International Corporation have been engaged in litigation against Rimini Street, Inc. and its CEO, Seth Ravin, regarding unauthorized copying of Oracle's software. Following a bench trial, the court largely ruled in favor of Oracle and imposed a permanent injunction against Rimini. However, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit later vacated portions of the order and injunction that Rimini appealed. The court has since revised the injunction, and the parties are currently addressing Oracle's copyright infringement claims related to Rimini's PeopleSoft support processes. Additionally, the Ninth Circuit remanded Rimini's appeal of a previous Fees Order, instructing the district court to reconsider the award of attorneys' fees and costs in light of recent developments. The court has vacated the Fees Order, allowing Oracle to potentially seek fees again after the conclusion of ongoing proceedings.
