Alligator Energy (ASX:AGE) said EnviroCopper received approval to conduct a 90-day site environmental lixiviant trial to test the in-situ recovery technique for copper extraction at the Kapunda project in South Australia, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
BHP (ASX:BHP) is funding the test work under the agreement executed by its subsidiary OZ Minerals in 2022, the filing said.
The trial is expected to run from the fourth quarter of the year into the first quarter of 2026.
Alligator Energy holds a 15.6% stake in EnviroCopper, per the filing.
Alligator Energy's shares fell past 6% in afternoon trade Monday.
