Ford Motor (F) is recalling 29,501 F-150 Lightning battery electric vehicles because of a detached front upper control arm that may result in a loss of vehicle steering and control, increasing the risk of an accident, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a report.
The recall concerns certain 2024-2025 F-150 Lightning vehicles, the auto safety regulator said, adding that the vehicles' front upper control arm ball joint nut may be loose, resulting in the front upper control arm detaching from the knuckle assembly.
The automaker will replace the nut and/or knuckle assembly without any charges.
Shares were edging 0.5% lower in recent premarket activity.
