5月29日，宇树科技向合作伙伴发布通知称，因公司发展需要，杭州宇树科技有限公司即日起名称变更为杭州宇树科技股份有限公司。届时，原公司所有业务由“新公司名称”继续经营，原公司签订的所有合同继续有效。

同时，据媒体报道，本次宇树科技股份变更过程中，该公司新增一位董事——北京京国瑞股权投资基金管理有限公司总经理梁望南。这是宇树科技股份首次出现一位北京国有资本人士担任公司董事。

对此，有网友提问道，“这是为上市做准备？”也有网友表示：“机器人赛道现在上市门槛高，参考大疆去年改制的操作，明显是要搭合规架构拉融资抢市场先机。”对此，宇树相关负责人回复称，这是公司运营方面的常规变更。

但值得注意的是，今年4月，在杭州访问的香港特区行政长官李家超曾与王兴兴交谈，在问及是否有来港上市的计划，王兴兴表示：“后续有可能，不确定。”他表示，宇树科技一直有开拓全球市场，在香港亦有经营业务，各方面合作机会多。李家超鼓励宇树科技来港拓展业务，并表示香港特区政府亦可提供所需支援
