JetBlue Airways (JBLU) will not seek a merger with United Airlines (UAL) under a partnership recently announced by the two airlines, Reuters reported Monday, citing Chief Executive Joanna Geraghty.
"We've spent a lot of time with the Department of Justice over the last five years, and we're playing it safe," Geraghty said, according to Reuters.
The two airlines said May 29 that they are collaborating to give customers more options to find flights as well as new ways to earn MileagePlus and TrueBlue points.
JetBlue and United did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
