Wesfarmers has tasked John Gualtieri, chief executive of Kmart, with replicating his success in transforming that discount chain at Officeworks, where he will replace Sarah Hunter at the helm.
Hunter will step down in August after more than six years in the top job at Officeworks, handing over to Gualtieri, who, as chief executive of Kmart and Target, reports to the new managing director of Kmart Group, Aleksandra Spaseska.
