Equinox Resources (ASX:EQN) has confirmed refinery-grade bauxite and gallium with extractable alumina up to 42.1% and aluminium to silicon ratios up to 9, suitable for low-temperature Bayer processing at its Campo Grande project in Brazil, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The intercepts include seven meters at 39.2% extractable alumina, with an aluminium to silicon ratio of 6.8, including three meters at 40.8% extractable alumina with an aluminium to silicon ratio of 7.5.
The company added that gallium is present up to 106.5 grams per tonne gallium oxide, recoverable as a by-product during the Bayer process via caustic liquor circuits, adding to the project's strategic metals value.
The company's shares were up 4% in recent Thursday trade.
