Albanese praises Western Australia’s gas reservation policy

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has praised Western Australia’s domestic gas reservation scheme and says his government already has the power to force producers to sell to the local market on the east coast.

As the government prepares to review Australia’s energy system, including the viability of an east coast reservation, Albanese told a cabinet meeting in Perth on Tuesday that WA had shown foresight to require gas producers to quarantine a portion of what they producde for domestic use.
