智通财经APP获悉，Joby Aviation(JOBY.US)正与沙特阿拉伯重要投资方洽谈一项价值可能高达10亿美元的合作协议，计划向后者出售多达200架空中出租车。
根据周二发布的联合声明，Joby已与沙特吉达的Abdul Latif Jameel签署谅解备忘录，双方将“共同探索在沙特建立Joby电动飞行器分销体系的商业机遇”。
声明指出，此次合作是未来拓展整个中东市场的战略第一步，但未透露首批交付时间表及交易具体执行周期。
Joby首席执行官JoeBon Bevirt在接受预录采访时表示，这项潜在的协议是“我们在沙特拓展业务的重要第一步。我们相信沙特市场的长期潜力远超当前规模，这仅仅是首期合作”。
总部位于加州圣克鲁兹的Joby是少数几家研发电动垂直起降飞行器(eVTOL)的先锋企业之一，致力于通过电池驱动的空中出租车为乘客提供短途通勤服务。该公司近期调整了商业计划，将迪拜商业化运营时间从原定的今年年底推迟至2026年初。
目前，Joby仍在等待美国联邦航空管理局及其他国家监管机构颁发的飞行运营认证。
据了解，Abdul Latif Jameel作为丰田汽车(TM.US)在中东地区的长期代理商，与丰田保持着深厚合作关系。两家企业都是Joby的早期投资者，其中丰田近期已成为Joby的最大股东。
