Posco (KRX:005490) opened the Australian Core Resources Research Institute in Perth, the South Korean steelmaker said in a Friday release.
The institute will serve as the group's core mineral research and development hub for projects in low-carbon steelmaking, lithium and nickel processing, and rare earth refining, and for identifying new business and investment opportunities in next-generation core minerals.
Shares of Posco fell more than 2% at market close on Monday.
