Former prime minister Scott Morrison has been awarded the nation’s highest honour for his leadership during the pandemic, one year after the appointment of two COVID-era premiers prompted backlash.
Morrison was made a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for eminent service to the people and parliament of Australia, spearheading the national pandemic response and for contributions to global engagement and economic initiatives.
