BlockBeats News, June 11, according to a report by CoinDesk, Ripple announced at the APEX 2025 Conference in Singapore that the EVM-compatible sidechain of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) will officially go live in Q2. The testnet for the sidechain, which has been operational since the beginning of the year, has seen rapid growth. According to data from development company Peersyst, 87 new entities have joined the ecosystem, spanning areas such as infrastructure, application development, and user growth. EVM compatibility will enable the sidechain to seamlessly run Ethereum-based decentralized applications and smart contracts. Once the mainnet goes live, users will be able to earn returns through DeFi applications like liquidity pools.
