1325 ET - Costco, O'Reilly, and Walmart are the retail stocks to stick with for the foreseeable future, UBS analysts say in a research note. Like FAANG and Mag 7 for tech stocks, the three retail companies should be grouped together into an acronym--COW--as reliable outperformers over the long-term, the analysts say. Owning the stocks of best-in-class retailers could provide a measure of safety during times of uncertainty, they say. The retailers should also see an accelerated upswing as the macroeconomic backdrop improves, as they tend to benefit from periods of disruption and come out stronger on the other side, the analysts say.
